A man suspected to have  raped  two fresh students of the  University Of Nigeria Nsukka , UNN, around 9am, last Saturday, has been arrested. The man and 5 others, who are said to be labourers cutting grass, allegedly raped the 100 level Microbiology students at Vet mountain inside the school campus. However, yesterday, Friday 15th of November 2018, one of them was caught by the Odim vigilante group, after many students identified him.

The Bayelsa State Government has confirmed the arrest of two suspected cult members who were said to have killed Miss Seiyefa Fred during a robbery incident in Yenagoa on November 8, 2018. The Special Adviser to the Governor of Bayelsa State on Security, Boss Spero-Jack, said the two suspects linked to the murder of Seiyefa, 100 level student of Mathematics at the Niger Delta University, were apprehended by the Bayelsa State Vigilance Service on Friday. According to him, the two suspects, Junior Danumunabo, aged 20, from Nembe Local Government Area of the state and one Ezeago, were picked up at Amarata area at about 5am on Friday following investigation into the crime. He said that the preliminary findings indicated that Ezeago was the leader of the gang, who gave the gun with which Seiyefa was killed, to Danumunabo.  A final year student has died after she was allegedly tied to her bed by her jealous boyfriend, locked in her room and set ablaze in Uganda. Immaculate Kembabazi had just completed her Bachelors in Business Administration, BBA at Makerere University Business school (MUBs) and was due to graduate in January with honours – it’s quite tragic to see that her dreams have been burnt in flames of jealousy. Neighbours and colleagues on Friday morning, found Kembazi burnt in her rented room in Bugolobi, a city suburb. Her hands tied with ropes and several marks on her body suggesting a spirited fight, she would later give up before her tormentor tied her, set her on fire and locked the room to condemn her to a long lonely painful death. The abductors Zamfara twin sisters have threatened to kill one of the girls if payment of their ranson is not made on time. The twins, Hassana and Hussaina, were kidnapped last month in Dauran town while distributing the invitation cards of their wedding. A family member, Ibrahim Abubakar, who spoke with the kidnappers and the twins on phone said the kidnappers had reduced the ransom to N15million. “We are only able to get N6m selling our properties and receiving contributions from family members, politicians, traders and ordinary people,” Mr Abdubakar told DAILY NIGERIAN on Thursday night. Detectives attached to the Ondo State Command of the Nigerian Police have found the decomposed body of one of the two missing undergraduate students of the  Adeyemi Collegehave of Education (ACE)  at a ritualists’ hideout in the State. The body was found over the weekend following a week-long investigation and intelligence gathering. In July 2017, authorities of the school in Ondo State declared two students of the tertiary institution missing after they could not be found in their private hostels.   The names of the two missing students were given as  Semilore Oloruntimilehin  of the  agricultural  department and  Oladapo Blessing Oluwaferanmi  of the  biology  department.   Femi Joseph, the spokesman of the police in Ondo State confirms that the body of one the missing students was found over the weekend. North Korea has just accused the United States and South Korea of attempting to assassinate leader Kim Jong Un with a "bio-chemical substance." In a report released today which offered no evidence, North Korean state news agency KCNA said a "hideous terrorist group" conspired with the CIA and South Korea's Intelligence Service (IS) to mount the attack. The report said the aim of the attack was to "commit bomb terrorism targeting the supreme leadership" during major events including a recent military parade. The report also claimed a North Korean citizen was involved in the plot, using "biochemical substances including radioactive substance and nano poisonous substance" to target Kim.

Management of Nigerian singer, Kiss Daniel have slammed Hit Factory and Nasco Entertainment for their ineptitude and failure to meet up with their signed obligations after the singer announced on Instagram a few moments ago that he’ll no longer be in Cameroon to headline the ‘Invasion Concert’ tonight.  His manager, Louiza Williams, has this to say  ‘The event organisers couldn’t meet up with their obligations. We gave them several chances to do the needful but they failed.’ ‘It’s really painful because we arrived from Dubai and went straight to the departure to check-in for the Cameroon trip only to realise that things weren’t straight. They pleaded with us to wait for 30 minutes. We ended up waiting for over five hours at the airport, yet nothing was done. They just couldn’t meet up with what was agreed and signed.’

 The Akwa Ibom Police Command has arrested a child trafficking syndicate and a woman for allegedly buying a 2-month-old baby for N450,000.  The suspected traffickers were paraded to journalists on Saturday, October 22, at the state police headquarters in Uyo. A Nigerian Lady took to social media to narrate her experience with a traffic robber while heading towards Chevron roundabout, Lekki Expressway.  While she put up a fight after the glass of her car was smashed by the thief in broad daylight, she was more disappointed that everyone around her just continued looking and refused to help. Ocha Brigade teamed with joint task force, stormed Agulu, Ekwulobia, Uga on Monday, September 12th, to forestall further illegal collection of tax.  The team were able to arrest over 20 of them over harassment, extortion and illegal revenue collection. More photos after the cut.   

The Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU will begin a warning strike from October 2nd. The union disclosed this in a statement signed by the Chairman, University of Abuja chapter of ASUU. “We have tried to dialogue with the Federal Government but they have been playing games with us; we will start with a warning strike to show them we are not jokers. ASUU has being trying to get the attention of the Federal Government to intervene in the academic system of universities across Nigeria but it has all been abortive. Consequently, ASUU will give a warning strike which will start on Oct. 2nd. The strike will last for one week, and if they do not give us listening ears, we will start the indefinite strike in November,” the statement read.
